“Prisoners of Silence” is an Italian no profit Association which is responsible for the aid to the Italians imprisoned abroad and to their families
But who are the “Prisoners of Silence”?
They are mainly the 3200 Italian distributed in prisons abroad. Prisoners of Silence because no one would speaks about them, or make news on them. Somebody is innocent, somebody is guilty, but They are all human beings with rights. While scandals, gossip and politics cover pages of the most important newspapers and magazines in Italy, there are 3200 Italians who have no room to implore their rights.
Taking awareness of this state of affairs and of difficulties' who meet in wanting to break this silence, eight women decided to found an association to support those families who face the obstacles that the status of relative and friend of an Italian inmate detained abroad involved.
